This Privacy Policy describes information processed by Mulch Calculator at mulchcalc.org and how the site’s current calculator features use it. It reflects the features and settings reviewed on the date above. The site may change; this notice will be revised if its data practices change materially.
Information processed when you calculate
When you run a calculator, the values you enter are sent to the site’s calculator service so it can validate the request, perform the calculation, and return the result. The ordinary calculation flow does not create a user account or save a project history in your profile. The calculator system does not intentionally retain ordinary input values as a saved job record.
Some calculators let you create a shareable link. That action places the calculator state, including entered values and selected units, in the URL fragment and copies the link when you choose the share action. Anyone who receives that link may be able to restore those values. Browser history, synced browser data, or a recipient’s copy may retain the link. Do not put confidential or identifying information into calculator fields or shared links.
Some calculator workspaces can save a batch document in your browser’s local storage. That state remains in that browser profile until you clear it or remove the relevant browser storage. It is not a server-side account or cloud backup.
Feedback and technical diagnostics
If you submit the problem-feedback form on a calculator page, the site receives the feedback type, the message you choose to write, and limited calculator context such as the calculator/release identifier, page path, or affected input-field path. The form does not require an email address. Do not include passwords, payment information, private customer records, or other sensitive details in feedback.
Calculator Core may store limited operational or validation diagnostics to investigate errors. These records can include a calculator identifier, release, request identifier, error code, field path, validation reason, expected input type, value category, and timestamp. The diagnostic schema does not store the submitted raw field value. The current default retention setting is 90 days for diagnostics and automatic feedback cleanup; the site administrator can change retention settings.
PDF downloads and email details
To download a clean, unwatermarked calculator PDF, the current interface asks for an email address. If you skip that step, you can download a watermarked PDF without providing an email. After the email request is accepted, the PDF is generated and downloaded in your browser; the current feature does not send the PDF as an email attachment.
For a clean PDF request, the site stores the email address, calculator and release identifiers, associated WordPress page, source path, consent status, and timestamps in the site’s Calculator Core database. The default retention setting for these records is 365 days and can be changed by the site administrator. An optional checkbox records a request for occasional tool updates separately from the PDF request. In the current implementation, that choice is recorded as an unverified follow-up request; it is not by itself a verified newsletter subscription.
PDF generation can also create limited operational records about the request or its success/failure. The default retention setting for PDF-generation records is 90 days. The ordinary PDF output is created from the calculator values needed for that request.
Behavior analytics, cookies, and browser storage
As of the date of this notice, optional behavioral telemetry is disabled in the site’s settings. No advertising or third-party analytics service was identified in the active site configuration reviewed for this policy. Calculator Core can support consent-gated, sampled behavior events if the site operator enables that feature and connects a consent provider; any material change will be reflected here.
The calculators may use browser local storage for a saved batch workspace and may place calculator values in a URL fragment when you explicitly create a share link. WordPress may use necessary cookies for administrator or authenticated sessions. Hosting, security, and network services may also process technical request data as part of delivering and protecting the site; their specific cookies and log-retention practices are governed by those providers.
Service providers and email
The website’s hosting and network infrastructure processes requests so pages and calculator services can operate. If you contact the site, your email client and email-service providers process your message as part of delivery. The site does not identify a separate email-marketing provider in its current configuration. Provider-specific retention periods outside the site’s own settings are not controlled by this page.
Retention and requests
Current Calculator Core defaults are 90 days for feedback cleanup, diagnostics, and PDF-generation records, and 365 days for PDF request records. These settings may be changed by the site administrator, and cleanup depends on the site’s scheduled maintenance running. Email correspondence is handled through the contact mailbox and does not have a site-configured retention period.
To ask about, access, correct, or request deletion of information associated with you, email admin@mulchcalc.org. Include enough detail to help identify a relevant record, but do not send additional sensitive project information. Requests are reviewed under applicable law; some records may not be identifiable or may need to be retained where required for legitimate operational or legal reasons.
Children
The calculators are designed for adults planning home and landscape projects and are not directed to children. Please do not submit a child’s personal information through calculator feedback or PDF requests. Contact us if you believe a child has submitted personal information.
Changes
